About WIBA and KIBC

Who are WIBA and KIBC?

The Wichita Independent Business Association (WIBA) and the Kansas Independent Business Coalition (KIBC) are associations of private and publicly owned businesses throughout the state of Kansas. Our membership ranges from the individual sole proprietor operating a home-based business to large corporations with thousands of employees – such as Via Christi, Cargill and Koch Industries.

Currently, we have more than 700 business members representing approximately 250 industries, including more than 300 self-employed and home-based businesses. What unites our members is the focus on independent business.

Privately held companies are a different breed. For WIBA and KIBC members, operational concerns and vision reach far beyond short-term stock prices. Our businesses do not view success strictly by the next quarterly report but in the reward of following a dream or building a solid company with a true long term vision.

The Wichita Independent Business Association exists for one purpose – to serve the interests of independent enterprise.

It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the 2011 WIBA Board of Directors.  We will continue to ask for your judgment and opinion on topics as diverse as legislative issues, seminar topics, and services for you.

The Kansas Independent Business Coalition (KIBC), a statewide business organization for privately owned businesses, is working to build an economic renaissance for Kansas and its people.
